Project IMBAS
Project IMBAS is a large-scale research project investigating the intelligibility of different spoken languages. This project is supported by Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) under the Grant Number 125M560.

Research Focus
Fundamental and applied research in acoustics and auditory perception
Multilingual and Bilingual Speech Intelligibility
How does language background and bilingualism influence speech intelligibility under different listening conditions?
Speech Maskers
How do different types of maskers, such as competing speech and noise, interfere with speech perception and listening effort?
Spatial/Linguistic Release from Masking
How do spatial separation and linguistic differences between target speech and maskers improve speech intelligibility?
Speech Signal Processing
How can speech signal processing methods be used to analyse, enhance, and objectively evaluate speech signals?
Room Acoustics
We provide acoustic analysis and design for rooms with diverse functions, including performance spaces, recording environments, educational facilities, and workspaces, using measurements, simulations, and established design criteria.
Building Acoustics and Noise Control
We offer building acoustics and noise control services for residential, commercial, and specialized facilities, addressing sound insulation, vibration, and environmental noise through measurement, modelling, and standards-based assessment.
